The idea of distributed energy sources
I think that a bigger effort should be directed in changing the basic concept of power distribution. Instead of few large facilities, I think our goal should be that every house, building, parking lot and other man-made structure, will be able to capture,produce, store and contribute energy to the E-nternet.
What are E-nternet actual advantages:
- Minimize impact on environment
- Use land already utilized by us
- No Need to claim more land, see or forest regions
- Minimize conventional grid
- Scalability in the developing world
- No need for huge resources to establish energy delivery system
- Robustness by local storage
- Minimize impact of power disruptions caused by political storms, natural storms or other failures
- Scalability in the developing world
Disadvantages
- Harder to build a viable economical system like large power companies
